Veganism is a growing trend, both in the UK and around the world. More than a diet, veganism is a lifestyle adopted by many in which the products they buy and use are of great importance.
The number of vegans in Britain has risen by over 300% since 2006 which has caused a significant increase in the number of new vegan products being launched. With this in mind, here at Group55 we have spent considerable time formulating our vegan shampoo, which is one of our most popular product formulations, and a favourite with many of our clients.
What is veganism?
Veganism, simply put, is the abstaining from use of animal products, predominately in diet. Those who choose to live an ethical vegan lifestyle however, will also abstain from wearing and using products which are derived from animals too.
Vegans will seek to exclude the purchase and use of all products which are deemed to include animal or animal derived ingredients, or any which involve the exploitation of animals in any way, including clothing and cosmetic products.
Does vegan mean cruelty free?
A product that is vegan does not contain any animal or animal derived ingredients, and the term ‘vegan’ can simply be used to note this.
Cruelty free on the other hand, is generally considered to mean that neither the product or the ingredients of the product has been tested on animals, and that the development of the product hasn’t used methods which involve cruelty to animals. This however doesn’t necessarily mean the product is free from animal ingredients.
Our vegan shampoo
Our vegan shampoo has been formulated to be 100% vegan, and is therefore made using no animal or animal derived ingredients. Like all our other products, our vegan shampoo is also cruelty free.
Containing key ingredients such as pro-vitamin B5 and Aloe Vera, our vegan shampoo helps to keep hair healthy, smooth and conditioned. It has also been formulated to be sulphate free to help avoid irritation.
Alongside our vegan shampoo, we are also able to formulate a number of vegan cosmetics, including conditioners, skin care, bath foams, oils and more. If you’re looking to create your own private label vegan shampoo or other cosmetic, please contact us for more information.
